Loudoun Cares and United Bank Launch Financial Literacy Class

LEESBURG, Virginia (June 2025) – On Wednesday, June 24, Loudoun Cares partnered with United Bank to launch the first in a new series of free financial literacy classes aimed at empowering Loudoun County residents with the knowledge and tools to take control of their financial futures. Hosted at HealthWorks of Northern Virginia, which generously provided the space, the class drew a wonderful group of participants eager to learn and improve their financial well-being.

During the class, instructors shared practical tips on budgeting, saving, credit management, and more. Loudoun Cares also provided information about the many services available throughout the County that offer supplemental support.

These classes are designed to help individuals take control of their finances with confidence. United Bank representatives worked directly with participants to review their personal spending habits and identify sustainable financial paths. Attendees expressed interest in future sessions covering topics such as savings programs and insurance.

“This is just the beginning,” said Ronni Ward, Chair of the Loudoun Cares Board of Directors, “Financial literacy is critical, and we want to ensure that everyone in our community has access to the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.”

Open to the public, these classes will be offered monthly. These classes are designed to meet people where they are—whether they’re looking to improve day-to-day money management or build long-term financial resilience. For more information, please contact info@LoudounCares.org.
