Loudoun Cares Hosts Their Annual Community Shred & More
LEESBURG, Virginia (June 2026) – Loudoun Cares is hosting a Community Shred on June 6, 2026, from 9am-12pm, free of charge to Loudoun residents and small businesses. Loudoun Cares implemented this event several years ago in partnership with Rover Records Management as a great way to further serve the community. Serving as the site host, DC Prime has generously allowed use of their Parking Lot (20120 Lakeview Center Plaza, Ashburn, VA 20147) as a collection site. This year, Loudoun Cares has added the “& More” by teaming with two other partners: the Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital and Junk Runners. No registration is required. Anyone can just show up with the following:
- Paper records & old tech — Rover Records Management will handle secure shredding and electronics recycling (laptops, hard drives, USBs, and more). New this year: tech donations accepted!
- Clothing & household items — The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital will accept gently used clothing, kitchenware, décor, books, and small furniture for their 87th Rummage Sale to be held in October.
- Large items & junk — Junk Runners will be on-site to haul away true junk, i.e., furniture, appliances, and bulky items.
Each of the collecting organizations has specific lists of what they will accept/will not accept. Full details and the accepted items list can be found at www.LoudounCares.org
Monetary donations to Loudoun Cares are also welcome, as every dollar donated supports Loudoun Cares programs, serving all County residents as well as our neighbors in need.
