Jenny Tomlinson Named as Executive Director Loudoun Cares
LEESBURG, Virginia (July 2024) –Loudoun Cares Executive Director Valerie Pisierra has announced her retirement as of July 31, 2024 after 8 years of service to the organization. Jenny Tomlinson has been appointed by the Loudoun Cares Board of Directors to replace Pisierra as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective August 1, 2024.
Throughout her tenure, Pisierra has helped shape Loudoun Cares from a fledgling nonprofit into one of the most respected and effective nonprofits across Loudoun County. She leaves a robust Volunteer Center open to all residents, helping local nonprofits staff their volunteer positions. In addition Loudoun Cares information and referral ConnectLine supports the distribution of government and private funding to those in need. Over the past 4 years, Loudoun Cares has distributed over $2.7 million in assistance funds.
Jenny Tomlinson has served alongside Pisierra as the Loudoun Cares Director of Programming and Operations for the past three years. In that capacity, she gained full insight into the organization and its various programs. “As today’s economic issues continue to impact the stability of our residents, our mission ‘to connect those who serve with those in need to build a stronger community’ takes on new importance” stated Tomlinson. “There are folks struggling in our own backyards and we cannot let them fall through the cracks.”
