We are excited to have Sharanya Maddukuri take the position of Loudoun Cares Volunteer Coordinator. In this role, Sharanya provides guidance to anyone looking to Loudoun Cares with volunteer inquiries, be it for nonprofits who want to list an opportunity, individuals who want to give back, and businesses looking to get more involved in the community. Sharanya is currently planning many of the logistics for our upcoming OVAs. She is dedicated to encouraging volunteerism in future generations and bolstering our future roundtable initiative, which seeks to provide a space for local nonprofits to collaborate.

Sharanya was paired with Loudoun Cares through the George Mason University in September 2024. She began her initial year-long internship by building a comprehensive list of Loudoun nonprofit organizations. She then transitioned to work with grants, tracking applications, writing a number of grant requests, and identifying 80+ funding opportunities. Additionally, she helped expedite the workflow of the ARPA program, assisting with ledgers and data entry.

A long-time resident of Ashburn, Sharanya enjoys reading novels and volunteering wherever she can. She will be graduating this coming spring with a degree in Government and International Politics, bringing practical insight to her work with Loudoun Cares. With her commendable work ethic and passion for helping her community, Sharanya has been, and will no doubt continue to be, a valuable asset to the Loudoun Cares team.
