Marlou Svenson is an accomplished leader in public health advocacy. Marlou currently serves as the Political Director at Project 50 where she works with community leaders across the country to advance reproductive health care access. Prior to joining Project 50, Marlou developed campaigns with Doctors for America to expand Medicaid coverage for low-income Americans, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with Made to Save, a national education and grassroots campaign to advance vaccine access in communities hit hardest by the pandemic.
Marlou was drawn to Loudoun Cares by her own love of volunteering in her community. Marlou serves on the Associate Board of Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia and coaches her local Girls on the Run of Northern VA team. She also volunteers with the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Marlou received her M.P.H. from the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice in Hanover, NH and her B.A. from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. She lives with her husband, son, and rescue dog in Ashburn.
