Jon Hillis has been a Leesburg resident for 24 years and has deep connections to Loudoun County, where he has raised his family and built a successful career in the construction and solar industries. As co-founder of SolUnesco, a utility-scale solar developer, Jon has collaborated with communities on solar installations and played a pivotal role in advocating for the Virginia solar industry. His efforts were instrumental in passing important legislation for third-party owned solar energy projects in the state.
Jon’s extensive experience includes participation in various industry boards and committees, such as the CHESSA Board of Directors, the VAEIC Executive Board, and the DEQ Permit by Rule Regulatory Advisory Panel. He has also served as the Board Chairman of SHINE and held leadership positions in organizations like the NRCA and the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Green Business Initiative. As a certified solar roofing professional in Virginia, Jon is committed to promoting sustainable energy practices.
Passionate about giving back, Jon is eager to contribute to Loudoun Cares’ mission of assisting those in need. “We have the resources, wealth, and responsibility to ensure that no one falls through the cracks in Loudoun County,” he expressed.
