Valerie Pisierra joined Loudoun Cares in 2015 as the Program Coordinator. In 2017 she stepped into the role of Executive Director of Loudoun Cares. A dedicated and caring leader, Valerie truly believes in the power of community and what it can do to lift up those in need.
Valerie’s 20 years of managing volunteers and working with nonprofits is a perfect fit to carry out the mission of Loudoun Cares. As a military spouse living overseas for 16 years, she volunteered, organized, and led nonprofit groups. Valerie worked with student organizations and held several leadership positions in school affiliated nonprofits. Working with Americans Working Around the Globe (AWAG), a European non-profit organization focusing on training and connecting volunteers, she volunteered and served as the Vice Chairperson. She was a Rheinland-Phalz Area Representative, a conference assistant, and conference speaker for 5 years.
Valerie earned a BS and an MBA degree in Business Administration and Management. Her honors include the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award, the Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service, the United States European Command Award Certificate of Achievement, and the European PTA Volunteer of the Year. Most recently Valerie was a finalist for the 2021 Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Executive Leader award.
Valerie is thrilled to be working with Loudoun Cares and its impactful programs. “I encourage everyone to strive to be a contributing force in their community. Getting involved in your community is a great way to enrich your life and the lives of those you help.”
