Loudoun Gifts for Good was originally known as the St. Gabriel’s Alternative Gift Fair. St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church initiated the Fair as their gift to our community and raised $100,000 for local nonprofits over the period of their leadership. Loudoun Cares participates in the Fair with support from partner nonprofits, local faith communities, and generous sponsors. The Fair was renamed Loudoun Gifts for Good in 2011. The mission of Loudoun Gifts for Good is:
To provide our community with a meaningful alternative for year-round gift giving – one which celebrates personal charity in support of nonprofits that strengthen our community and promote the common good.
So, what is an alternative gift fair?
Aside from being a fun and inspirational way to bypass the stress of gift giving, Loudoun Gifts for Good shoppers have an opportunity to support charities working to address Loudoun’s most pressing social needs. Shoppers make these donations in honor of family members and friends in lieu of consumer gifts during the holidays, birthdays, weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs and other events.
