Loudoun Cares Announces New Executive Director

Loudoun Cares has named Valerie Pisierra as its executive director, effective Nov. 14, 2017. Cares. Pisierra replaces Sue Kahlil, who recently left the nonprofit.

Pisierra has been with Loudoun Cares for _____years as director of programs, heading the nonprofit’s flagship information & Referral Helpline, the online Volunteer Center, and Claude Moore Community Builders. With a BS and MBA in business administration and management, and international management experience, Pisierra brings a strong leadership footprint to the organization. Her experiences include vice chairmanship of the Americans Working Around the Globe (AWAG) which trains and connects volunteers, and the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC), where Pisierra was involved in ensuring quality opportunities for military children affected by transition. Pisierra has been rewarded for her management and leadership with the President’s Volunteer Gold Award, the United States European Command Award, and the Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service.
